After-hours intake · for small law firms

They call.Probbie answers.You review by 8.

Callers in trouble do not leave voicemails — they dial the next firm on the list. Probbie picks up as your office's intake specialist, takes the matter down properly, sorts urgent from routine, and puts a clean brief on your desk by morning.

How it works

From a call you would have missed
to a brief you can act on.

01

Calls forward after hours

Keep your number. Conditional forwarding sends only the calls you would miss — nights, weekends, overflow, court days. Switch it off from your phone in seconds.

02

Probbie answers for the office

Composed, unhurried, and honest that it is the office’s automated intake assistant. It knows your practice areas and asks your intake questions — a conversation, not a form read at a frightened caller.

03

You review, then confirm

A text when the call ends and the full brief in your inbox by morning. Consult times are requests until you say yes — one reply puts it on your calendar and back to the caller.

The morning after

On your desk before your coffee is.

Every after-hours call arrives as a structured intake memorandum — the matter, the other party, the caller's own account, the urgency and why, and the questions they asked that only you can answer.

What happened

Rear-ended at a red light on Macleod Trail. Seen at urgent care Wednesday; neck and shoulder pain since. The other driver's insurer has called twice asking for a recorded statement, and she has not given one.

Questions held for the lawyer — verbatim

  • “Do I have to give the insurance company a statement?”
  • “What is a case like this even worth?”

Specimen brief — names are fictional

Taken down like a good paralegal would

Name, callback, matter type, the other party, what happened and when — worked into the conversation in whatever order the caller gives it, and never re-asked.

Their questions, held — never answered

Callers ask “do I have a case?” Probbie writes it down word for word and says plainly that is the lawyer’s question. You open the consult already knowing what they need to hear.

Urgent sorted from routine

Your definitions decide. Routine books a consult, urgent takes the first slot, and a genuine emergency rings your emergency line while the caller is still on the phone.

Everything on file

The brief, the transcript, and the compliance-audit result — in your inbox and your dashboard, every call, every night.

Built for the profession's rules

What Probbie never does.

No legal advice

Ever — however the caller frames the question, however many times they ask.

No case assessments

“Do I have a case?” goes to you, in the caller’s own words, unanswered.

No outcome predictions

Not what it is worth, not what happens next, not even a range.

No fee quotes

Retainers, contingency, what a consult costs — your conversation, never its.

No deadline advice

It captures when things happened. What that means for a limitation period stays with you.

No pretending

Every call says plainly what it is: the office’s automated intake assistant. Calling never creates a solicitor-client relationship with the firm.

Intake and scheduling. Nothing else. Every call is recorded, transcribed, and audited afterwards against exactly this list — and the audit result rides on every brief you read.

One employee, two jobs

He answers. He also files.

Probbie already prepares Alberta probate draft-form packages for review. Now he takes the phones too — the same employee, on whichever job your firm needs first.

Fair questions

What you would want to know first.

Is an automated intake even allowed?+

Intake and scheduling are not the practice of law — advice is, and Probbie is built never to give any. It discloses that it is automated on every call, never assesses a case, predicts an outcome, or quotes a fee, and every transcript is audited afterwards against those exact lines, with the result on your brief. You review everything by morning, and no firm goes live before the guardrails have been through legal review.

What do my callers actually hear?+

A composed, professional voice answering for your office — unhurried, articulate, and honest about what it is. Call the demo firm above and play a client; that call is the product.

What about genuine emergencies?+

You define them — in custody tonight, a protection order, a child at risk. Those callers are offered a live transfer to your emergency line; if you cannot be reached, the matter is flagged and you are alerted first thing. Anyone in physical danger is told to call 911 first, before anything else.

Do I keep my number?+

Yes. Your Probbie line sits behind conditional call-forwarding — it only rings when you do not pick up, or outside the hours you choose. You can switch it off from your phone in seconds.

What does setup involve?+

About an evening: your practice areas and intake questions, what counts as urgent and as an emergency, your consult windows, and the forwarding code on your phone. We set it up with you and review the first calls together.

Never miss a client again.

Hear it before you hire it — call the demo firm and play the hardest client you have ever had. Ask what the case is worth. Ask what it costs. Watch it hold the line.
